General Mitsubishi Fuso fighter truck reviews for Uganda
The Mitsubishi Fuso Fighter has a pretty modern design with a cab over engine configuration. The vertical front fascia features a relatively thin grille which bares the company’s logo in its center. Above the grille is embossed the FUSSO name with big chromed letters.
The truck is fitted with a large panoramic windscreen which is combined with transom windows in the passenger doors for extra visibility.
When designing the Fighter’s cab, Mitsubishi’s engineers were concerned to improve the truck’s aerodynamics; hence the cab has a pretty rounded shape to keep the drag coefficient to a low level. The bumper has also an aerodynamic design and gels well with the rest of the cab.
The Fuso Fighter’s cabin offers acres of space but the build quality is a bit poor and the plastics are cheap and rock hard. The design is still a bit dated, but you won’t have any complains about the overall ergonomy.
Most of the controls are placed within easy reach and are within easy reach even from the driver’s seat. You’ll find the instrument cluster a bit rudimentary when compared to other units in this class, but at least the gauges are fairly easy to read and clear.
Drivers will be happy to know that visibility is nothing short of excellent and the transom window in the passenger door keeps you well informed about what cars are passing by. The exterior mirrors on either side of the cabin are a bit small, but they’ll do their jobs just fine and won’t compromise the rear visibility.
The driver’s seat is air suspended and offers a proper level of back support. It also features a wide range of adjustments which enable you to find a comfortable driving position. The pedals are also pretty ergonomically placed and you have plenty of legroom. For enhanced comfort, the steering wheel comes with telescopic and tilt adjustments permitting you to find a proper position pretty fast.
Storage isn’t a problem either and we especially like the two shelves found on the top of the dashboard.

Ride and handling: At the front, the Mitsubishi Fuso Fighter is equipped with parabolic leaf suspensions with shock absorbers, while at the back it received a long taper leaf configuration. For the rear axles there are also available semi elliptic leaf springs or air suspensions with dump control.
The truck’s ride is more on the bumpy side, but the good part is that the vehicle has a relatively small body roll which helps it to engage in turnings without any problems.
The Mitsubishi Fuso Fighter’s steering is responsive and almost as engaging as the European models. You won’t complain about its overall road manners as the truck has anything it needs to inspire you a proper amount of confidence while driving.
Thanks to its cab-over configuration the Mitsubishi Fuso Fighter is easy to drive around the narrow city streets and has also a relatively small kerb to kerb turning circle of 17 meters.

Our Verdict
The latest iteration of the Mitsubishi Fuso Fighter has brought the truck to a new level. It’s true that the level of technology sophistication find in the cab is pretty basic and the comfort is still not far from the rudimentary level of the previous generations, but apart from these issues, the changes made under the sheet metal are obvious.
The engines are more efficient than ever and we also like to the introduction of the Allison automatic transmission which is a game changer for Mitsubishi’s medium duty truck. The Mitsubishi Fuso Fighter has also excellent road manners and a strong built quality which gives it a strong, hard worker character.
