UGANDA GORILLA SAFARIS

Tip You will need a gorilla permit before taking this route and therefore ensure that your Uganda tour operator has securedyou one as you might not be admitted for the gorilla tracking activity. |
On day one of your 6 day Uganda Gorilla tour, you will be picked from your Kampala or Entebbe Hotel early morning and driven west wards.
Make a stopover at the equator for photographs along the Kampala Masaka Road and then proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
You will follow the mystical Rwenzori Mountain range for much of the journey, then continue through savannah grasslands seeing banana plantations and herds of Ankole cattle with their incredible long curving horns.
A game drive En route may be rewarded with views of Lions,Elephants, Leopards, Buffaloes, Hyenas and a variety of Antelope species.
After your lunch, go sightseeing in the crater region -it is a marvel! Visit the Katwe Salt works for a glimpse into traditional salt mining.
You will have your dinner and spend the night at your best Safari lodge within Queen Elizabeth National Park.

On day two of your 6 day Uganda Gorilla tour you will leave your safari lodge at 08.00am for chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura gorge.
Expect to see various primates most especially Chimpanzee of different species, Black and white Colobus monkeys and other animals like antelopes, hyenas, Lion and many others in the middle of savanna grassland.
You will return to your Safari lodge for lunch and get a chance to relax by the side of the swimming pool before taking an afternoon boat trip along on Kazinga channel.
This will give you the opportunity to view some interesting waterborne wildlife close: hippos huff and spray mere feet away from the boat, buffalo linger in the shallows.
The shores of the channel are also home to an array of birds.
After this wonderful afternoon, make a slow drive back to your Safari lodge for dinner and overnight lodging.
After Breakfast on day three of your 6 day Uganda Gorilla tour, leave for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
You will drive through the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth called Ishasha.
Try to find the famed Ishasha tree-climbing lions before continuing on to Bwindi Gorilla Park.
Here you will take lunch enroute.
The road then drops down into a valley, to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the mountain gorillas!
Bird life and primate life in Bwindi is quite superb, and there is an incredible variety of flora.
Book into your favourite Gorilla Resort for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4 is that dee day for your Uganda Gorilla Tour! Wake up early morning for a hearty breakfast to give you the energy needed for gorilla tracking.
Before 8:00 am report to the Bwindi park ranger station for a brief talk by one of the rangers as well as registration.
You will then set off for your Gorilla tracking activity in the forests of Bwindi.
Tip Gorilla tracking can be strenuous, and you will need to carry packed lunch, drinking water, wear comfortable boots or jungle shoes suitable for steep muddy slopes, put on ear plugs if you feel uncomfortable with jungle sounds and also take a rain jacket. |
Ask the Game rangers for a walking stick if you feel you need one, and you will receive it free.
The gorilla guides will then take you through the bush pushing your way through the undergrowth, parting thick creepers, to track the gorillas.
You need a good ammount of fitness as this gorilla trek can take from half an hour to as long as 9 hours.
It is indeed an extraordinary feeling sitting in the dense rainforest and knowing you're in close range with the few of the world's surviving mountain gorillas.
You will then have your dinner and spend the night at your Bwind lodging tent for the second time.
On day five of your 6 day Uganda Gorilla tour, after breakfast at Bwindi, you will depart for Lake Mburo National Park.
This scenic drive will take you to Mbarara where you will stop for lunch before making your final descent to Lake Mburo National Park.
Lake Mburo National Park contains an extensive area of wetland which is a habitat birds and animal species. Enjoy lake Mburo's sculptured landscape with rolling grassy hills and idyllic lakeshores.
After checking in, take a dug out canoe ride where you will spot hippos, crocodiles and a variety of water birds.
Spend the night at your best accommodation near Lake Mburo National Park.
After an early morning breakfast on the final day of your 6 day Uganda Gorilla tour, you will take a guided nature walk.
A ranger guide takes you on foot to the bushes within the park.
Lake Mburo is the only place in this part of Uganda where you can see zebra and Impala and it’s also the best place to see the African Eland, Africa’s largest antelope!
You will arrive at Kampala in the late afternoon.
End your 6 Day Uganda Gorilla Tracking Safari.Tip If you have an early morning flight, then book into your favorite Entebbe Hotel to avoid missing your flight. However, if you have an evening flight the next day, then you can book into a kampala hotel for one night and take an airport shuttle to Entebbe Airport the following day. |
