General Mitsubishi Fuso Heavy Duty Truck reviews for Uganda
In the latest years we’ve started to see more and more attractive designs in the transport industry and the newest generation of the Fuso Heavy is another example of good style. The new generation sports a aerodynamic cab with a rounded, cubic form and flush surface all around.
The truck features a cab-over configuration and comes with a wide twin grille which bares the company’s logo in its center. The bumper has a fluid design and continues the aerodynamic style of the rest of the cab.
The thin turning signals are placed above the bumper, while the main headlights are placed lower and feature a nice dynamic design which gels seamlessly with the bumper lines.
Similar with the previous generation, the Mitsubishi Fuso Heavy also feature a transom window mounted in the passenger door to improve the side visibility.
Mitsubishi didn’t changed only the exterior design, the chassis is new as well and is now lighter and stronger, offering a solid base for the various applications of the truck.
The model range includes 4x2 and 6x4 prime-movers for metro and regional missions, medium wheelbase 6x4’s which are ideal for tippers, long wheel-base 6x4’s for heavy rigid applications and the long wheel-base 8x4 for vocational and distribution applications.

Looking at the interior, the fresh design found at the exterior is carried over to the interior as well. Inside, everything is new and the old dull style is now replaced by a more modern feel with a rounded instrumentation panel area.
The materials seem slightly better than the previous generation and are a class above what you’ll usually find in UD’s or Isuzu’s trucks. The build quality is also good and everything is fitted pretty well and looks durable.
The meter cluster features an unobtrusive design which prioritizes readability, with glare-free panels and well thought-out positioning to be easy to read. The multi-information display, located in the meter cluster, keeps you posted on different vehicle information. There are also fuel consumption indicators which show the average amount of fuel consumed, allowing for more fuel-efficient driving.
The parking brake lever is located near the driver’s seat, allowing for smoother operation between break release and shift control.
Sitting in the driver’s seat, is a pretty comfortable experience, as you have all the necessary adjustments to enable you to find a proper driving position. To increase comfort, the steering wheel can be also adjusted for both reach and rake.
As it was expected, the all-round visibility is excellent, as the panoramic windshield is fairly big and the pillars are pretty thin. The transom window from the passenger door, also offers extra visibility on the near side at the front of the truck.
There are also a bunch of cup holders and useful storage places that can be found all over the cabin to make your life on board easier.
The cabin can be also fitted with an optional bunk bed and curtain, over head storage consoles air conditioner and a rear quarter window.
With that said, now let’s take a look at the ride and handling. Mitsubishi has developed a lighter, stronger frame construction for the FP and FV series. Thanks to the new improvements the chassis is now significantly lighter and more durable.
To be able to cope with a wide range of applications, the truck is available with both leaf springs steel and air suspensions. To improve the ride quality the steel suspensions are combined with shock absorbers and stabilizers which also improve the truck’s handling.
The truck’s ride is pretty soft so you won’t be disturbed too much by the difficult roads. There is also a relatively low body lean and the steering is fairly accurate, serving you well at both low and high speeds.
The Mitsubishi Fuso Heavy’s safety features include driver’s airbag, engine brake and ABS with traction control and a Hill start system to prevent roll-back.
