The dfcu Bank and the UK-based leading financial training firm, EuroMoney, are hosting selected financial institutions to a training workshop on oil, gas and power.
The four-day training, which runs from August 15 to 18, is the first of its kind for bankers. Justine Bagyenda the Bank of Uganda executive director for supervision, opened the training at the Imperial Royal Hotel in Kampala on Monday.
“This initiative symbolises the financial sector players’ resolve to be ready for the changes that will be brought about by the rapidly developing oil sector. I hereby call upon all stakeholders to take part in such dialogue because it will go a long way in empowering them holistically to find appropriate business solutions for the oil sector’s value process chain,” Bagyenda said.
Juma Kisaame, the dfcu Bank boss, said their engagement with the oil, gas and power sector revealed that more information and skills were required for bankers.
