Uganda Hosts the 5th East African Petroleum Conference





Uganda is playing host to the 5th east Africa petroleum conference that will mainly tackle petroleum issues. This time the regional meeting will have information shared among the states, latest technology displayed and cooperation enhanced to ensure that the benefits of petroleum are regional.

Uganda is bound to be an investment attraction as time goes by owing to the discovery of over 2.5 billion barrels of oil in the albertine region. So far it has attracted 37 international oil and gas companies licenced to carry out exploration in the region, but management of this treasure has attracted the advice of the east African states.

The 5th East African petroleum conference is taking place a time when the integration process for the EAC partner sates has gained momentum.

The east African sates are working towards regional refineries and other infrastructure required to enhance storage and distribution of petroleum products in the region.
