TULLOW Oil has said it will start oil production in Uganda in 2012 rather than its previous target of 2011 due to the complexity of the operations, including putting up the required facilitities.
“Exactly when that is going to be, we will have to look very carefully, but I think 2012 is a good time,” Brian Glover, Tullow Uganda’s manager, told reporters.
Tullow had initially said it would start commercial production in the last quarter of 2011.
In recent months, however, the company has suggested a tax dispute between the Government and Tullow’s former partner, Heritage Oil, could delay that target.
