Question:
describe the Ugandan tax structure?
Answer:
Uganda’s tax system is comprised of excise duties, import duties, VAT, income taxes, and a number of taxes with small yields e.g. fees and licenses, drivers’ permits, airport tax, and freight charges. Uganda relies mostly on indirect taxes for its revenue, particularly those inclined to international trade. This dependence on indirect taxes is mainly due to the fact that income taxes are limited by administrative and other constraints.
